My first time going to Steak and Shake was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. I really wonder if the staff has had any training at all in customer service. The hostess seemed to not know her job or how to even speak with other humans. My table was dirty. They got my order wrong. The atmosphere was loud and chaotic. I will not go there again.

They make a great shake, although I'm still bitter that they took my favorite Banana Split shake off the menu. I don't think I've ever tried one of their hamburgers. I've had the patty melt and it was good, but messy. The sauce made the Texas toast soggy and it fell apart. I just come here for the shakes.

I've been going here since I was a little girl. We just got done visiting White Water Bay and wanted to relax at Steak N' Shake afterwards. Let me just say: it hasn't changed since I was a little girl. The food was amazing! The prices are cheap, and the shakes are to die for. Not to mention the excellent waitress we had. She was extremely sweet! We had no problems with her whatsoever. We got our meal fast and were able to pay when we pleased! Love eating here.

we went to steak & shake after a huge conference in OKC. we went around 1am & they were jam packed in the lobby & the drive up. we ordered & were served super quickly & our order was correct! the employee who took our order was extra friendly. great burger & the shake was good too. the fries with cajun seasoning are DELICIOUS. seriously, I could have eaten double what came with my order, they are the best.

Unacceptably slow service. The waiter tried, but the kitchen wasn't trying -apparently. Trash on the floor was there when we arrived, and still there when we left. Employees slowly, aimlessly walking around, past all manner of crumbs and food on the ground, under tables at which they had new customers sit at, and dirty dishes left the entire time out where all could see. Tried to let manager know as we checked out, but he was defensive and claimed they had been slammed. While I couldn't speak to their drive through business at that time, their sit-down business was not a "slam." and that wouldn't explain the "workers" not making any effort.

Rude people. We walked through the doors and had to wait about 8 minutes at the "Wait to be Seated" booth until someone noticed us. When we got to the table, we waited about another 10 minutes until our waiter, Juan asked what we wanted to drink. After we were done eating, we got up to go pay at the cash register.. The manager took her sweet time to the cash register. She didn't even ask how are we doing or how was the food. She was just completely rude. I will never go here again. Bad service and rude staff.

Never been too impressed with this place. I think they have a good menu. Lots of good burger variations, chili, killer milk shakes..... but in my opinion they fall way down on the scale on customer hospitality. A smiling face would go a long way. However, I do keep coming back because every once in awhile I am craving a Frisco Melt with their onion rings.

I gave this joint four stars because: 1. They are open Until 2am.... Yes for getting burgers after the club lol 2. The happy hour buy a milkshake or drink and get one free was a great deal! 3. The milkshake was the best I had in a long time 4. The burger was so yum I wanted another one. The bun was super soft it melted in my mouth. 5. The bill for two people was under $15 ...yay 6. Great spot to try when you traveling out of state. I was in oklahoma visiting family when I went here :)

Every Sunday after church, we typically frequent a different eatery as we love trying out local restaurant. Today, we chose Steak 'n Shake. The restaurant was very busy so we expected a delicious burger. While the prices were very reasonable, the food was subpar along with the service. I would like to add that their kid size cookies and cream shake was delicious. Our waitress barely spoke to us and only came to the table very briefly to bring drinks. We will not be coming back to this establishment.

One of the great things about being a teenager is that you possess a limitless amount of energy. If you could harness the energy of a single teenager directly to the civil power grid, you could solve some of our world's biggest problems immediately. Steak n' Shake played a major role in my teenage years because on a typical Friday, I would wake up at 6:00 am, attend school for 8-9 hours, head directly from school to my job, work until 9:00 pm or 10:00 pm, and do a "late date" with my girlfriend until 12:00 am or 1:00 am (dodging shotgun blasts from my eventual father-in-law at the end of the night). In most cases, I wouldn't be tired at the end of that day: I'd be wired and wide awake, with no hope of going to sleep any time soon. Steak n' Shake solved this issue, because I could pop in, have some chili and dessert, and pass some time before heading home and having the recurring argument with my mother about how this sort of thing was objectively bad for me but she'd let it slide since I was still excelling in school. So in the late 1990's in Tennessee, Steak n' Shake was great; I got to know the waitresses (most of whom were my age anyway), had good food, and always had a great experience. I was excited when they opened up in Oklahoma City, but the magic has not transferred across state lines. The food is actually not prepared as well as I remembered, but I'm willing to admit that I just might not have been as picky back then. The service, however, has been straight-up poor on all my visits. I'm willing to bet that better-managed locations would take better care of executing the chain's concept and not actively alienating customers, but it's been nothing but a disappointment for me. I will say that my wife, the milkshake lover, is still as happy with the "shake" part as ever. But again, I try to avoid paying money to be treated poorly.

Food was great as always! Sitting there conversating with my wife over a cheap meal and the server we had on Thursday night was a lot annoying. Seriously, before even getting our meal (and 30 seconds right after ordering), waitress says "your food will be right out guys". Well, that didn't happen...not only did she annoy the crap out of my wife, our food took forever. I'll stick with the drive thru at this location.

I'm from Illinois where SnS are everywhere. I've been missing their delicious Frisco melts and shakes and I'm happy to see they've set up shop in OKC now! I have no idea what the person who posted that "they are way to [sic] expensive" is talking about. You can get a meal- burger, fries, drink- for $4. My husband and I never leave SnS paying more than $10.

Can't beat the burgers and chili fries. I tried the peanut butter & banana milkshake and it was so good. We don't have a Steak n Shake in California so it's always good to travel to a place that does. It's a burger, it's fast, it's greasy, but hey we're Americans and that's what we're known for.

First impression was the place was a little chaotic and a little in organized the staff was very friendly but there uniforms were dirty. One wasn't even in the proper attire which seemed to be the manager. The floors were dirty and food was noticed on them as well. The guy working the grill had facial hair and no cover or guard to protect from falling in the food. A big let down for not being able to eat at this place in over 5 yrs since I wasn't near one! We won't be coming back to this one

Really sad this didn't turn out better. The food was good. Average for a burger shake place. I should have tried to communicate with the manager before I left. But I did try to call. Let it ring and ring. No answering machine. The floor was terribly sticky. But it was late on a Saturday evening. Hostess was very nice. Waitress was very good. The bathroom however was beyond gross! It smelled awful. The floor was sticky and just a plain mess. The biggest problem I had was a roach on the floor!!!! That may not bother most but that was over the top for me. Walked out and won't be returning.

This is your burger, fries, and shake kind of place. It has a better quality than your typical fast food restaurant. The thing that I really enjoy in particular is their White Chocolate Shake. They only serve this shake seasonally, so it won't be available all year round. Their Oreo Cookie ice cream sandwich is also pretty good and its only $1 !! The only thing I didn't really like was how their fries were small. I didn't like the way they cut the fries. Other than that, I really enjoyed this place.

After I was shown to my table, I had to use the restroom so that's where I went first. I wish I hadn't. I come here once a year when I'm I'm town for the LegalShield convention and this year is the worst bathroom experience out of 6. It made me really wonder about the cleanliness where the food is concerned. The toilets clearly hadn't been touched in maybe a month! Gross is an understatement. I had to use hand sanitizer from my purse to wipe the seat and around the seat! No seat covers is a big no-no! Okay, with that out of the way, I'm still shaking off my ickies but I want to enjoy my food as I always do. I ordered a cup of plain chili and the single steakburger w/cheese as well as onion rings. My server was a (sweet) young man and I think the place is pretty much run by teens (who obviously don't clean toilets). The chili had a good flavor and a little spice, next time I may get it on a burger. The burger and fries were just fine but the onion rings were not good at all. They had no crunch and barely any 'fresh from the fryer' color. I was bummed. I'll go back next year and hopefully they will be redeemed.

I visited this restaurant for the first time last night very interesting concept has and it looks like a fast food place but it's a sitdown they serve you kind of place the service I received was unfortunately the worst I've had in a long long time the waitress never KMan or the server never came in and really took care Marneys took order broader food and then basically never refilled our drinks never came back to check out the food was she was clearly observed a lot of the time just walking around talking with friends The food quality was just average I think I would had a better time at Freddy's frozen yogurt

1st impressions are everything right?! So I enter for lunch super excited only to find there was nowhere to sit bc it was fully and 5 tables that were dirty. The two waiters didn't have time to clean tables once people left I get that kinda because they had full tables. Several people came to the counter asking where there order was? So I left & went thru drive thru before leaving I looked into the kitchen to find more than 10 burgers on the grill. Went thru the drive thru to order a combo meal, to find steak n shakes combo meals don't come with drinks.... blink blink blank stare, I beg your pardon, I didn't hear correctly, no drink!? Last time that I checked the purpose of a combo is to get fries burger & drink!. I get my order, my fries are cold. I ask for hot fries, but bc I was on lunch break decided I would just eat my burger. I unwrap it & Its cold, not even slightly warm. You know when your cheese isn't melted ; that's a dead give away your meat & or bun isn't warm. I could have just microwaved my burger & fries once I returned to work a person might say. But that defeats the whole purpose of ordering fastfood. I paid & waited for hot food! So I call & ask for a manager, the lady yells to her boss "I need a manager". I hear the manager say "for what?"I quickly tell the lady on the phone to tell the manager I have a complaint. The manager says "I can't take the call, ill have to call them back!" Wow seriously. ... I tell the young lady on the phone , that I foodblog & will be putting this in my review! Now before people think I'm a jerk , lets me say this I worked in fast food for 6 years. It was my 1st job. There are somethings/ level of respect you somewhat expect from a regular worker in fast food. But when a manager is too busy to take a complaint call, you have a problem. My boss would have chewed me out as a manager. I get it fastfood people just dont care anymore. Just be courteous & give fresh hot food! Is that too hard. That's a pet peeve of any customer, to wait for food only to find it cold. I'm just saying I could have been a mystery shopper for crying outloud. This was my first time eating at a steak n shake in Oklahoma & this is how I get served as a paying customer smh. My oreo ice cream sandwich was good & cold because its ice cream & was supposed to be! I won't be stopping at the Midwest city location ever in life!

Of the fast food places this is one of my favorites. The burgers are tasty and those little shoestring fries are addictive. I didn't have a shake today as I normally do, but they are excellent! Throw in friendly staff and you've got a winner.

What a great combination. Steak and shake! And you also know it's a match made in heaven when they also rhyme as well. Each of their steak patty are 100% pure U.S. beef (U.S.A! U.S.A!!) that includes the T-bone, strip-steak and sirloin, which they then quick-sear. You should try their Steak Burger sandwich and wash it down with a shake or a malt. If you don't feel like a burger(infidels!) I recommend the Frisco Melt Dinner. It's two STEAKBURGER(tm) patties with American and Swiss cheeses topped with our tangy Frisco sauce between slices of grilled sourdough bread. Anything with cheese is good... unless you're lactose intolerent, which is really a bummer because you also cannot enjoy a shake. This is a great place where they you can devour parts from a cow.

Of the three times I've been here they've messed up my order. Food is ok, nothing special. Would only come back for the shakes.

We are originally from the St. Louis area and grew up on Steak and Shake--leave it to Midwest City to ruin one of my favorite places to eat. The service stinks and the food is terrible. I just wait until I go home to enjoy a good steakburger--steer clear of this place.
